Haas Phase 1 Expander At chair-side and evaluating the healthy root length and confirming no resorption on the primary (baby) molar teeth, bands are placed on the E’s for the Haas Phase 1 Expander. Schwarz Primary Expander is an interceptive (early) arch development treatment appliance. This removable expander features ball clasps on the primary (baby) teeth and applies positive pressure to the palatal and lingual mucosa, resulting in increased arch development and correction of cross-bites, as well as reduction of crowding with early incisor tooth eruption.
